Play Readers Group

The Hazelbury Bryan Playreaders have been getting together on the second Tuesday of the month at my house at 2.15pm, for in excess of 10 years. Many of the originals members are still with us and we have collected more over the years. Recently some have had to leave us due to family and other commitments.
At present we number 3 men and 5 women. The plays are chosen from the library catalogue of play sets. If possible I like to know 2 months in advance who can be present, so that I can choose and cast the play. Then the play for the following month can be given out at our meeting. No learning of lines is necessary but it is a good idea to read the play in advance to get an idea of your next character.
There are no costs involved. We have a lot of laughs. Between acts we stop for tea and biscuits. We would like to recruit a few new menbers particularly men readers. I am ready to have a break from dropping my voice and adopting a mans way of speaking. No public appearances are involved, it is purely for our own enjoyment.
Plays range from farce, comedy, drama, history and tragedy.
