Converted from an oak framed barn in early 2009, the cottage is approached from its own private drive and has wonderful uninterrupted views over un spoilt farmland. The cottage makes an ideal place for a romantic break in beautiful, rural Dorset. The property is quietly situated on the outskirts of the village of Hazelbury Bryan, and is surrounded by what is undoubtedly some of England's prettiest countryside.

It is close to a number of excellent pubs and is within 45 minutes drive of the Dorset coast giving excellent access to Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove, Swanage etc.

The cottage has been designed and furnished to the highest standards with every detail planned to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

• Old Causeway Bakery is on the edge of the attractive village of Hazelbury Bryan, in the Blackmore Vale four miles south of Sturminster Newton, a Medieval market town mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
• We are also close to Sherborne, Blandford Forum, Shaftesbury & Dorchester and an easy drive to the glorious Jurassic Coast.
• Old Causeway Bakery Cottage is a one bedroom holiday cottage attached to the main house available for luxury self catering holidays.  It has a private patio overlooking the garden and fields.
• The Stables Loft is a light and airy self catering converted loft with a huge private balcony overlooking the garden and fields behind the house.
• The garden overlooks the fields and has plenty of places to sit and relax and enjoy the views.
• Dogs are most welcome and the garden is dog proof.

The Old Malthouse

The Old MalthouseIf you are searching for peace, tranquillity and wish to unwind in a rural backwater, 'Far From the Madding Crowd', then rest awhile at The Old Malthouse, in one of two self-catering cottages. A warm welcome awaits you from your Dorset born host, with stories of country folk and times gone by to tell.

The Old Malthouse is now a 17th Century private home, lovingly restored from its former origins and is presently operating as Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The two L shaped single-storey cottages are completely separate from the main house with their own access, rural views and secluded garden and courtyard areas. They have been converted from barns with originality and an eye for that traditional cosy, country feel.
The 2-acre property is in Droop, a quiet hamlet on the edge of Hazelbury Bryan.

The Old MalthouseTHE BYRE: 2 double bedrooms: 1 four-poster, 1 double or 2 singles. Bathroom and separate shower room.

CIDER HOUSE: 1 four-poster room, and the other with bunk beds suitable for children. Good-sized bathroom.

Both cottages have through kitchen, lounge with open fireplace and dining area, with southerly aspect, overlooking fields. Heating costs are inclusive, electricity is metered.
